What do you think of Korea or the Korean people?

To seek out an answer, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will be running a special contest this year, "Searching for the DNA of the Republic of Korea,” that will run until June 30.

Those who wish to enter the contest can submit their photos, drawings or videos. Applicants do not have to stick to one specific topic, such as influential figures in Korean history, cultural heritage, the national spirit, nature or lifestyles, as long as their work holds the image of anything "Korean." When submitting their entry, entrants need to provide a short explanation of their work and a simple description, such as, “This is what Korea is like to me."

The contest has three categories: photographs, videos and drawings. One grand prize-winner in each category will receive KWR 1 million. Two runners-up in each category will receive KWR 500,000 each. Five third-place finishers in each category will receive KRW 200,000 each. A further 100 participants will be awarded smaller gifts.

To enter the contest, please visit its homepage (http://www.k-playground.kr/), its Facebook profile (https://www.facebook.com/koreadna) or its Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/korea_dna).
Winners will be announced online on July 24, 2015.
